My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET RICK: Your Loyal Companion

Rick has endured more than his share of challenges, spending 8 months surviving at a Boise-area landfill before being rescued. Now, this sweet and resilient pup is ready to leave his past behind and find his forever family.

Rick is about 1 to 2 years old and weighs 38 lbs. He is a compact little guy with a loving, gentle nature. He gets along well with other dogs with proper introductions and has blended nicely with the pack at his foster home. While he hasn’t met cats yet, he’s done well around young kids and is eager to bond with people who will shower him with kindness and patience.

Rick is potty-trained, and although crate training is still a work in progress, his intelligence and eagerness to please make him a fast learner. He’s a “Velcro dog,” happiest when he’s by your side, and his low-key, chill personality makes him a wonderful companion around the house.

Because Rick can be sensitive to raised voices and is still learning the ropes, he would thrive in a calm, understanding home that can offer him love, stability, and the guidance he needs to continue blossoming.

If you’re looking for a loyal, laid-back, and loving dog to be your partner in life, Rick might just be the one. Are you ready to give this sweet boy the home he’s been waiting for?

More about this rescue

Since our formation in early 2013, we have helped save thousands of cats and dogs throughout Idaho from neglect, abuse, and death. Many of our rescues come from the Burley Idaho Animal Shelter where PAWS has transformed what was once a high kill facility to a shelter where every adoptable animal gets a second chance! PAWS also takes in stray pets from all over Idaho including Twin Falls, Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell. We work our very hardest to respond to every call for help!

PAWS Rescue, Inc. saves all breeds of cats and dogs of all ages as well as animals who have been hit by cars, shot, abandoned, abused, and neglected.

Rescued animals are placed in loving foster homes or transferred to other no kill partner facilities giving them a chance to find the perfect forever home. Our efforts give these deserving animals a second chance at a happy life.

Every animal receives veterinary evaluation and care, including spay/neuter and vaccines, as well as treatment for any other medical issue they may have. No animal is ever euthanized due to expense.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about PAWS Rescue, Inc. !
