My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Approximate Date of Birth:12/23/2020

Description:

Hi, my name is Thurman and I am the sweetest big boy you'll ever meet! I love to climb up onto your shoulders and give lots of hugs and rub my face against yours. My favorite thing is getting kisses on my nose and forehead and I will even make little noises to let you know how much I enjoy your affection. Even though I'm a big boy, I really enjoy being carried around and being with you in everything you do. Although my past is unknown, I definitely am thankful for getting a new life and being off the scary streets.

Words to Describe Me: cuddlebug, affectionate, needy, sweet

Favorite Place to Sleep: in a lap

Perfect Day: being with my human, cuddling on a lap

Kitty's Likes: kisses and cheek scratches, being held

Kitty's Dislikes: Be alone

Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: Talk to me and kiss my head

Favorite Treat: Friskies canned food or Delectables lickable treat

  • Good with Cats: Loves cats.

  • Good with Dogs: Animal needs company and would do well if companion animal was a dog.

  • Good with Children: Can live with children over the age of 8.

  • Companion Animal: Requires a companion if left alone for long periods of time.

Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested (as indicated by age), receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption as appropriate by age.

Thurman is FIV positive which is not contagious to other cats.  FIV positive cats live with FIV negative cats. Learn more about FIV

Additional adoption info

We will adopt to out of state adopters but we do NOT ship animals under any conditions. You must come to us in person to meet the animal and make sure it is a mutual match. We have had many adopters come from the states around us and drive or fly with their new family member back.

Go meet their pets

Some of our "ready to adopt" felines are located at one of our Arizona PetSmart locations. https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/locations/

We also have a small satellite operation in San Diego with adoption events on select Saturdays at the PetSmart Escondido store.

We highly recommend applying in advance in order to increase your opportunity at adopting the kitty you are interested in. Applications are processed in the order they were received. If you have questions, please email adoptions@savingonelife.org.

More about this rescue

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, never kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidentally got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them at intake@savingonelife.org. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv (Cats), dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fees range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely never kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care.
