My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I'm Lucy, but you can call me Lucy Goosey Fartsy Tootsie (it’s a lot, I know, but it’s just how I roll!). I’m a 1.5-year-old black pug with a BIG heart and an even bigger love for snuggles. I’m what they call a “velcro dog,” which basically means I’m always by your side—whether you’re cooking, working, or just lounging on the couch. I’m also SUPER friendly! I get along with cats, kids, and dogs, so I’m basically the social butterfly of the dog world.

I love to give gentle kisses (they’re more like soft little face boops), and sometimes I’ll just press my face right up against yours to say “I love you” in my own pug way. I’m energetic and playful, but when the day winds down, I’ll be right there to cuddle up next to you.

Cars? I’m great in them! In fact, I’m basically your co-pilot, just happy to go anywhere with you. People can’t resist my cuteness, and I tend to make friends wherever I go (yes, I’m that charming!).

I’m mostly house trained but still need a little consistency and reinforcement (hey, I’m a work in progress). I’m crate-trained, but honestly, I’d much rather curl up and sleep right next to you, preferably with my face pressed against yours (it’s a thing).

I’m already spayed and ready to find my forever home. If you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, a little bundle of joy, and someone to keep you company all day, I might just be the one for you! Come meet me!

More about this rescue

Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit organization; obtained our 501(c)3 in 2011 - ID #27-0810495
Located in Anza, CA

Kathy Haley had originally started as a rescue for abused and neglected large animals such as donkeys, llamas, alpacas, pigs, and more. At the time, she was also a volunteer at a dog rescue. After learning about the importance of rescue work, Kathy saw an opportunity to help by employing her own ideas about animal welfare, rescue and care taking the "whole animal," mind, body and spirit into consideration. A few years later, she met Lisa Ashe. Kathy and Lisa had so many ideas, dreams, and goals in common. They instantly clicked and that was when Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit organization, was born in 2011 and have been going strong since.

At Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary, we are dedicated to taking in abused, neglected, and euthanasia listed animals that deserve a second chance and need us the most.

All of our animals are:
Spayed/Neutered
Current on all vaccines
Rabies Vaccinated
Dewormed
Micro-chipped (lifetime registered & paid)
Received all proper medical care when needed (surgeries, dentals, medications, grooming, etc)

While many of our animals are sanctuary or "permanent residents", we do have lots of adoptable pets who are patiently waiting for their forever homes.
We are unique in the fact that our dogs do not live in kennels; instead they live with us in our home on about 5 acres of property located in Anza, CA or they are in foster homes in and around the Temecula, CA area. They have full access to our home and property and sleep inside with us at night.
This ensures that our pets are well adjusted and perfectly suited to become a part of your family.

Because the sanctuary is also our home, we do not have regular public visiting hours but we do have many visitors.
We just have to arrange it to fit the schedule of our animals, ourselves, and you.
