Oreo: white & block spotted, medium hair, spayed female, born approx. 5/10/23, #18610
Cats: good solo or with calm/nice cats Dogs: comfortable Children: gentle older okay
BACKGROUND: Oreo was one of a group of kittens found by a rescuer who was helping to get a colony of cats spayed and neutered. Since the group was young enough to adapt, they moved into foster care. Oreo’s siblings have long since been adopted, but Oreo had digestive troubles that held her back. All sorts of diets and tests were done trying to figure out what was going on, but the cause was elusive until a biopsy revealed that her digestive organs were inflamed. A long course of prednisolone calmed things down and a chicken-free diet now keeps her stable. She’s doing great and is finally ready to find a loving human to call her own!
PERSONALITY: Oreo is a sweet and social kitty who is a little reserved at first meeting but who warms up quickly. She loves a nice comfy lap where she can relax and chill with her person… you can catch up on Netflix together. Since Oreo’s digestive troubles hit while she was a growing kitten, she is a smaller girl, though she’s certainly trying to make up for lost time and is delighted to be able to eat and still feel good! She has lots of energy for playtime: if you bring out the Da Bird wand, she’ll do flips trying to catch it! On her own, Oreo chases and bats around a variety of small loose toys and is such fun to watch.
COMPATIBILITY: Oreo can live with other cats so long as they are calm and nice toward her; she had a bad experience with a bullying resident cat in one of her foster homes that gave her a little hesitation with her own species. She is comfortable being a solo cat as she is very people-focused. She’s fine with well-mannered dogs and good with gentle older kids.
Oreo is happy to look toward the future: a future full of laps and cuddles, good food and good times. Will you give her a lifetime of love?
