UPDATE: Asha has been a wonderful family member here in B.C. for the past 6 years. Asha is being rehomed due to allergies in a new family member. As you can see from the photos, she is wonderful with kids and adults. She has gone to a doggy day program where she has been quite social with all the dogs. When on walksshe can be a bit leash reactive but at 9 years old, she has certainly mellowed in this respect.
As a 55 lb dog who lost a front leg as a puppy, she is doing quite well with mobility but she should probably be in a home with few stairs. She enjoys leisurely walks (daily or even just a few days a week would be sufficient, on leash) where she can sniff around, but can also keep up with a consistent walking pace as well. She enjoys playing tug of war most, she's not much of a fetcher. She loves to be where her people are, but is really in her element outside. Someone who has an outside hobby like gardening or has an outdoor shop or a family who enjoys being in their (fenced) yard a lot would have an amazing companion in her. She LOVES people, of all ages. She would appreciate a home where someone would play with her. She's housetrained and is respectful of all home decor when she is left alone. The vet's only concern for her in the near future is that she may need to start an arthritis regimen due to the extra weight put on her front right leg, but she's healthy otherwise. She had dental surgery last year and has no other major issues currently, is of course spayed, and is up to date on all her shots.
