My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Velvet is an extremely friendly black cat who is very vocal. She loves to be pet and rubs up against you and chirps. She also loves cuddles, lots of love, and head scratches! Velvet is quite sassy with other cats but she looooves humans. She will tolerate being picked up, but doesn`t love it. Velvet enjoys hanging out in cat trees and will play a bit, especially with the wand toy and inside tunnels, but she prefers rolling around for attention and being pet!

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
