Meet Dougie! This little chunk of happiness is a year old and around 55 pounds. He’s still very much a baby. Dougie is your typical little white potato AmStaff mix who is playful, sweet and loves kids and other dogs.
Dougie is submissive to the grouchy old dogs in his foster home and his favorite minutes of the day are when he can convince them to play. He also loves to snuggle on the couch when his tiny little t-Rex arms get him up there or when the teenagers give him a boost up.
Dougie is a handsome little short king who has all the rizz with the neighborhood kids. He will make a fun little companion for just about any home. Dougie has a nice medium energy level which is a rare find for a young pup - when he gets rambunctious it’s short lived and he’s very content to just be with his people, occasionally making little piggy noises.
Dougie is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.

If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

More about this rescue
CPR was formed in 2004 to assist unwanted pups and dogs with finding a new home. We rescue our pups from high kill shelters in TN and MS. Without the dedication of the staff and volunteers of these shelters and without the assistance of CPR, the pups posted on our website would not be rescued.
We also assist families with unwanted litters of pups by placing the pups and spaying their mommy dog to stop the cycle of unwanted puppies. When funds are available, we spay/neuter personally owned pets when asked for assistnce.
We rescue and rehome 200+ pups and dogs each month. We accomplish this task with the help of an awesome hard working and dedicated staff and volunteer base. Also helping us to accomplish what seems at times to be a thankless and overwhelming job is our pure and selfless love of dogs! We truly believe that rescue + rehoming = true love. <3
