HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.
---
- A gentle, loving guy who adores people and will greet everyone he meets with a happy tail wag; will be a great companion!
- Enjoys spending time outside and just taking everything in; likes to observe everything around him on walks
- BIG fan of treats and will do just about anything for them; also loves chewing on bones and eating his kibble from a snuffle mat or box
- Very smart and trainable; already knows sit, and his foster family says he has learned to go to the door when he needs to go potty and has even rung bells by the door a couple times to alert them
- Does best with a harness on walks
- Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him, so he'll do best in a more mature home
- Has done well with other dogs here in the shelter and in his foster home and would probably love having dog friends in his new home
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
