My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hedy.She was adopted from the Lewisville Shelter. She has had 2 weeks of intensive training with an excellent trainer. She has energy and always wants to play with the other dogs and cats. The foster's dogs are older and just want to nap. She is an absolute cuddle bug!! She is awesome on the leash!! She knows plenty of commands!! She is easily to correct and listens when told no, and then goes into being a perfect angel. Because she loves to play so much she would do best in a home with another sizable young dog who she can romp with, run and wrestle with. She does OK with cats, just wants to play with them. She is 110% house trained! and weighs 40 lbs. She will come with her fancy kennel, toys, and what not. It is all about finding a home that fits her needs and will love her!!

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
