My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trixie is a 2 year old, about 50ish lb Golden/Lab mix and in desperate need of a foster home! This beautiful girl was pulled from a kill shelter by a GRRAND volunteer, so she is very new to us and we are learning about her. But one thing we do know she is very sweet! This is what one of the GRRAND volunteers say: "I got to work/play with Trixie today and she is a delight! She looks and acts a lot like Luna, my current foster dog. She can sit, stay, and loves to fetch. She is very sweet and wants a lot of attention and I saw zero aggression. We'll need to work on her jumping up, and she can be a little 'play mouthy', but very gentle and no teeth. She liked interacting with other dogs through the fence and we will have her meet other dogs soon".

If you would like to help Trixie by offering her a foster home, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org! We will update more on her as we learn more.

More about this rescue

Early in 1994, members of the Greater Louisville Golden Retriever Club began to see the need for an organization to rehabilitate and find homes for displaced and abused Golden Retrievers. A number of folks in this club began organizing an ad hoc rescue group. As the number of rescues increased over a period of months, this “wet behind the ears” group came up with a name and in 1996, incorporated the organization now known as Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption of Needy Dogs (GRRAND). The rest, as they say, is history!
