My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Azul. My brother, Astro, and I have the distinction of being the first kittens to come to SBACC in 2025. We were 11 weeks old, and we were rescued and brought to SBACC after our Mama had abandoned us. We need a little time to get used to being at SBACC, and we’re both a little shy but slowly starting to relax and come out of our shells. When a visitor picked me up and held me for a while, I realized it felt good, and I bet I could turn into a cuddly kitty. Astro and I have been together our whole life and love to play and cuddle together, so it would be great if we could go to our forever home together, but a home with another kitten or young cat would be OK, too. I probably could even be an only cat if I had a Mom or Dad who was home a lot and had lots of time for me. I’m with Astro in two of the pics.

Dog adoptions include a written application and an on site interview. All family members, including other resident dogs, must meet the new dog.

The adoption process for cats and kittens includes:
A detailed application.
An interview with the potential adopter(s).
And a home visit, in some circumstances.

To ensure the best possible match for our cats and kittens, all applications are reviewed by our adoption committee and determination can take up to 48 hours.

We are an all-volunteer, no-kill, non-profit animal shelter formed in 1986 to find homes for the dogs, cats lost within our city limits. We are a California non-profit 501-C3 corporation # 33-0192138 so all donations are tax-deductible.
