Who needs Rip Wheeler when you can have Rip Heeler?!
This fella is a great all-around dog. Fiercely loyal, he will stay by your side and be making eye contact constantly waiting for his next directive. He has a decent recall when exploring and with training/consistency could easily be great. He's a great travelling companion as he doesn't get car sick and rides quietly in the vehicle. He also walks well on leash.
Rip absolutely adores human companionship. Young or old, he is ready with a wiggle butt and kisses. On the other hand, he's picky about other dogs. He doesn't have a problem with the ladies in general, it's the pesky other male dogs he tends to disagree with. He doesn't like them encroaching on his personal space and can get nippy. A home where he's the only male dog would be the best fit. He hasn't been around cats much but can be thoroughly tested for any potential adopter with feline family members contemplating bringing this handsome boy home.
Rip was originally found wandering a weekend country property with his female pup companion. He hung around for weeks and would follow the trucks moving through the property tending to the cattle. After a big storm, he moved a little way down the road and began hanging around a home there, but the two resident male dogs did not like him and would gang up bullying him, so the property owner called asking us to help. He has since been with a foster.
His favorite play buddy is their very active and loud seven-year-old. They will run and play all day long in the backyard.
Could Rip be the ruggedly loyal and handsome companion you've been looking for?
