Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ashton is a smart and loyal female dog. She is friendly and affectionate, loves to play, and enjoys the company of humans. She would make a great companion to someone who doesn't desire their dog to be a part of every aspect of their social life. Ashton is a homebody.
Ashton is independent and knows how to entertain herself. She also enjoys being a couch potato, and cuddling up with her favorite humans is one of her happiest activities!
Small children make her very nervous, so she needs to be in a kid free environment. Ashton also is not comfortable with other dogs, so a family looking for a single pet is her best match. Consequently finding a home for her has been a challenge. But we know her people are out there!
Ashton is an adult dog. She has plenty of energy and lots of love to give a family. We hope that Ashton will find her forever home with a family who can give her the love and care she deserves.

If ever a dog needed rescue, it is Ashton. Someone just needs to give her a chance.

Our multi-step adoption process includes an application, meet and greet, animal introductions when applicable, and a home check. We highly value the time and effort put into adoption applications, and encourage thorough, thoughtful responses as this is our primary avenue for getting to know your family. With that in mind, please be aware that applications with excessive blank or one-word responses may not be considered.
Animal introductions will be done for each pet currently living in the household. While we are not here to judge your lifestyles, we also conduct home checks to ensure that the household and backyard will be a safe living environment for a SacRDR dog. The Declaration page of your Homeowners Insurance policy or an approval letter from your landlord must be submitted with your adoption application; these documents are required to ensure that your HOI or landlord covers/accepts the breed you are applying to adopt.
If you have any additional questions, please email adopt@sacrdr.org.
