My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Virgil is an approximately 7 to 9 month old pit bull type pup. He came to us on January 24th from the city pound after his legal hold time finished and no one claimed him. He's a handsome young man with a bit of growing left to do. We expect him to be fairly large at maturity. We will need to get him vet checked and neutered soon and his fee is $150.

Virgil will need basic obedience training. He's a young guy with a lot of energy and he doesn't yet know how to curb his enthusiasm. We do think he'd be okay with another dog but have no way of knowing about cats. Due to his puppy activity level and current lack of training, we do think he would do best in a home without small kids. He's a lovable dog with a lot of potential!

NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
