This helps Humane Society of Terrell County with pet care costs.
Gracelee is determined, strong-willed, adorable, sassy and so stinking lovable! This little three-legged wonder is simply a miracle. She was dropped off at a vets office to be euthanized at 3-4 weeks old after being found. No backstory or details - just an open wound where her front right leg was missing, multiple places on her tiny body with missing fur and a greasy looking substance in random places. She was dehydrated and very skinny but despite that and the missing leg that produced the open wound, she was bright eyed and vocal. Our awesome vets patched her up and gave me a call. I knew she was too little and vulnerable to leave unattended with the older foster kittens during the work day so I asked my boss (Lee) if she could be my co-worker for 4-6 weeks until she could hold her own. And, here we are!
Gracelee doesn’t know she is missing a leg. She plays, jumps, climbs and causes chaos just like her foster siblings do. She is so far beyond amazing! She has a little nub left of what was her right arm - it’s fully functional and it is adorable watching her move it - especially when she’s trying to cover up her business in the litter box! Sometimes she does great getting it covered and sometimes she doesn’t but her efforts are stellar regardless.
This tiny girl is so fast when she runs that she is a blur! When I first got her, she was so tiny she just screamed at me when she wanted to be picked up. Within 2 weeks, she just climbed my leg when she wanted to be picked up. Gracelee became a star at my work - everyone fell in love with her and she amazed everyone she met. Thankfully, by the time she became a little too helpful at work, she was big enough to hold her own with her older foster siblings.
Gracelee has not been around children or dogs but I think this spunky girl will be fine with both as long as introductions are handled appropriately.
