I am Looking For: My loving forever family! Hi! I'm Sugar Plum , and I am a cute little kitten! I won’t ask for much- just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and be my kitten self.
What my Foster Says About Me: She is very active and playful. She’s been interested in toys, the cat tunnel, the cat tree, boxes since I brought her home. I would call her sweet and affectionate, she likes receiving pets and rubbing against you. In terms of her movement, she gets around really well to me. She has access to essentially 2 rooms of space and she will gallop between them. She does topple over as her back end sways but it does not seem to discourage her at all, she’ll just get right up and keep going. You can tell she uses her tail to help steady herself. So far I have not giving her access to any flights of stairs. I think she would do fine but plan to introduce more space gradually.
What the Shelter Says About Me: Sugar Plum is as sweet as her name! And she is an inspiration! When she came into our rescue, she had her wobbly walk and her spay vet suspected this kitten has Cerebellar Hypoplasia - wobbly back legs, some head tremors. It is neurological because her Cerebellum (part of the brain that controls balance, coordination and posture) did not develop normally. All else with Sugar is healthy and fine - and her spirit is strong! (It may be that Sugar Plum's mom had a very serious cat disease when Sugar was in utero.) Regardless of her 'special abilities' ... way of getting around and always trying her best at all the things other kittens can do more easily, Sugar Plum is always happy and ready to be held or to play. Her motions are not always synchronized, but they are always purposeful! One part of her body may be zigging while the other part of her body is zagging, but she makes it happen! All of this confidence in herself, and her trust in the volunteers makes you a believer that this girl will be highly successful in the right safe home. We are so proud of her! Sugar Plum is so loving and determined that it just feels good to love her!
Kitten Vetting Requirements: Your kitten may not be fully vaccinated upon adoption. You will be responsible for providing whatever remaining vaccines are needed to complete the kitten vaccine series.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for adult cats is $200 ($350 for two cats adopted together). The adoption fee for a kitten (under 7 months old) is $220 ($380 for two kittens adopted together). If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckycat.
