My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Heidi, and I’m a sweet and cuddly senior girl with a lifetime of experience under my belt. I came to CAHS when my previous owner moved away and could no longer care for me. Now I’m searching for my perfect forever home!

As an older gal, I’ve figured out what I like (and what I don’t). I’ve lived with other dogs in the past, but since their passing, I’ve had limited interaction with new canine friends. I prefer my space, so I’d do best with a neutral dog who respects my boundaries and gives me room when I need it. I haven’t had any experience with cats, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about sharing a home with one.

I’m fully housebroken and walk beautifully on a leash—I’d love to join you for long strolls or hikes! While I adore the people I trust, I can be nervous around new faces, particularly men and children. I may need a few visits to warm up to a new man in my life, and I’d do best in a home with older, dog-savvy kids who know how to give me space and respect my boundaries.

As a Great Pyrenees mix, I’m naturally alert and make a fantastic guardian, always keeping an eye out for potential threats. That said, I can also be a bit territorial, so I’ll need patient and slow introductions to new places, people, and animals.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and even bigger fluff, I could be the girl for you! I’d love to meet you and see if we’re a perfect match. 💕
