A spirited little girl who can hold her own when playing with her two brothers. Calista is happy to run around with the boys to chase a ball or each other as a group, but self-assured enough to explore on her own. Even when focused on her new discoveries, Calista responds to the sound of her foster mom's call (or a squeaky toy) and cheerfully comes running back.

Calista has loved meeting many new people and willingly snuggles into anyone's lap. When working one-on-one, Calista will settle and sit to receive a treat, a sure sign that she is trainable and wants to please.

Being a baby dog, Calista has only seen the two adult dogs and one cat in the house through a glass door so far. All the animals are curious and calm when looking at each other.Calista is a sweet, playful, confident puppy who loves to be held.

Established in 1929, Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) offers quality adoptions, affordable spaying/neutering, vaccinations and microchipping services, pet care services and education programs to enhance the human-animal bond. HSSV operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are the first organization in the country to meet the guidelines put forth by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians for standards of care for shelter animals: We are the first model shelter.

We are also the first animal community center in the nation to receive Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
