Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Ma Cherie-- we call her "Molly"-- is a Staffie/Terrier blend approximately 2 years old. Molly came into ACS on Jan 17, 2025, in a heart-breaking state. Molly was malnourished, dirty, fleas crawling all over her skin-and-bones body. She had undoubtedly been neglected for too long. Molly sat at the shelter's kennel quietly, as if used to being ignored.
Despite all she's endured, Molly has a tender spirit, loves attention and has the most grateful, loving look in her eyes.
Molly is highly treat- and-food motivated, and very smart. She is mastering "sit", going into her crate, and she relieves herself outside. She is a very loving girl who would do best in a home where her people are home most of the day. She is also mastering her leash skills with virtually no pulling, and a cute little trot at times.
Molly is non- destructive, and due to being a very good girl, she only slept in her crate for a few nights.

Our mission is to provide the programs and services needed to eliminate the killing of at-risk animals due to lack of space, adopter or foster.
San Antonio Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Due to alarming euthanasia rates, San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!) was founded in 2012. SAPA! is unique—it is the only high paced, high-volume rescue in San Antonio, saving 6,000 at-risk cats and dogs annually.
Since its inception, SAPA! has saved more than 47,000 dogs and cats. SAPA! provides safety nets for the dogs and cats that fall through the cracks of all other lifesaving options and end up on the euthanasia lists, often with just hours to be saved. SAPA! promotes the availability of these dogs and cats to other rescues, adopters and fosters.
