Gus is a fun-loving, happy dog that wants to be right by your side. He is possibly a lab - Catahoula mix and has the personality to match both. He has the loving, friendly, playful nature of a lab with the alert, focused, herding personality of a Catahoula. He was found on the side of the highway where he was likely dumped but already had good manners. He comes when called, uses a doggy door, has not had an accident in the house, and sits on command. He has been living in a house with 3 dogs and loves all of them and has no food aggression. He learns quickly and is curious about everything. He wants to talk to you and would like to lead you everywhere you go.
He loves to play fetch but returning the ball is not always his plan. He is a great snuggler and thinks he is a lap dog. I doubt he has ever met a stranger.
Because he likes to herd and that is in his nature, he might not be ideal for someone with balance issues. He has not been tested with cats but if you have a pet squirrel, watch out. He loves to chase squirrels.
