Oliver was built for porch-sitting and feet-warming. He’s an easy-going mellow grandpa-type, total family dog material and a friend to all animals. There is something so enchanting and easy to love about this guy, and lucky for you, he’s looking for his forever home.
Oliver is estimated to be around three years old, and we believe that he is a German Shepherd mix of some sort. He embodies everything amazing about Shepherds, he’s good with kids, calm, confident, expressive and loyal. He’s truly a GSD-Person’s dream, and we hope to see him in a home with someone that really understands and adores his breed. Oliver currently weighs in at 73 pounds, he’s a big boy, and as with most large dogs, a complete baby for his size. He is a rescue, so his exact age and lineage are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed.
Fall in love with Oliver here: https://youtu.be/jwLQMwwLn9Y?feature=shared
There is so much to love about Oliver. He leans up against your legs for affection, and absolutely loves being loved on. He’s great with kids, currently fostered in a home where a five and eight year old regularly visit and play with him. He met a four year old here at the rescue and did wonderfully with him. Knowing Oliver, and his mellow demeanor, we believe he would do best in a home with kids aged ten and up. Oliver also has an adoration for tennis balls that will absolutely melt your heart. When he sees a tennis ball, he will let you know, softly whining at it until it’s retrieved for him. Then he’ll carry it around in his mouth, or kick it around on the ground. He plays fetch too, but very, very slowly. See for yourself in his video, this sweet boy takes his time with just about everything.
Oliver is dog-friendly, and currently fostered in a home with 2 chihuahuas and a black lab. Oliver is also a frequent attendee of Doggy Daycare, where he attends large playgroups with dogs of all sizes. In his foster home, Oliver also lives with several kitties, whom he ignores almost entirely. They lounge on top of his crate, and he doesn’t mind at all. We believe Oliver is cat-tolerant and capable of living with dog-savvy kitties.
A really well behaved boy, Oliver’s foster family has no complaints about him! He’s easy on leash, great in the car, relaxed and happy to stretch out in the backseat. He doesn’t have indoor accidents in his foster home. His foster mom brags that he’s great in his kennel, but trustworthy enough to free roam the house with the other dogs all day.
Oliver is a true lazy old grandpa type, ready to settle down into a life that feels like retirement. He doesn’t need much by way of entertainment, though a few outings here and there would be nice. He would do best in a calm, rural home. He could live with other dogs, he would be happiest in a home with medium to low energy canine siblings that won’t ask him for more play than he can deliver. He could live with dog-savvy kitties. Oliver is just so easy-going, he could really never be an imposition.
We think Oliver would be happiest in a single-story house, preferably somewhere suburban or rural, where he can sunbathe outside and enjoy the fresh air in peace. We are willing to test Oliver with anything you need us to in order to ensure he is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
