My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org or Carol at cgriglione@arl-iowa.org.

---

- A very quiet, gentle, and sweet kitty

- He loves laps and cuddles and being a bed buddy

- Will seek affection, even from visitors

- Not a real active cat and spends most of the day napping

- Enjoys his mealtimes and treats

- Likes watching the laser light and sitting by a window to watch for birds

- Is living with another mellow cat in his foster home, and is co-existing well

This cat is likely in early kidney failure based on urine specific gravity and blood work we ran. We recommend feeding a special kidney diet. Animals in kidney failure may need additional diagnostics or medications throughout life at adopters cost. Kidney failure is a progressive disease and will worsen over time. Many animals can have good quality of life for years with proper therapy, though it is impossible to predict how the disease will progress. Please consult your veterinarian prior to adoption.
If you choose to adopt this animal, you will be required to sign a medical waiver stating you understand above mentioned information. Any further expenses related to diagnostics and treatment will be at your discretion and expense.
