My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pinkko, a 5–6-year-old spayed female Jindo mix with a beautiful white coat and a gentle spirit. Weighing in at 13kg.

Pinkko is not the type to shower everyone with affection right away but has a quiet charm that wins hearts. She waits for people to show interest in her before approaching calmly, often sitting quietly nearby or subtly asking for pets. Occasionally, she will roll over and show her belly, even to strangers, and she doesn’t mind being gently picked up when needed.

Regarding other dogs, Pinkko is polite but prefers her own company. Though she may greet unfamiliar dogs, she doesn’t play much and usually opts to relax on her blanket instead. Thanks to her time in the shelter, she’s comfortable in group settings but prefers peace and quiet over socializing. She’s the type to walk away from confrontations, only giving a warning if an overly excitable dog tests her patience. Overall, she’s not particularly interested in other dogs.

Pinkko has not lived with cats but can be tested if necessary. Her energy level is quite low, and she enjoys calm, restful moments more than anything else. She’s a well-mannered walker, following the lead nicely without pulling, though sudden noises or movements may occasionally startle her. She’s quiet, non-reactive to strangers, and has no separation anxiety, making her an ideal companion for retirees or working couples. She’s crate-trained, food-neutral with humans and other dogs, and primarily prefers outdoor potty breaks.

This lovely girl spent nearly four years in a shelter before her life took a new turn. While preparing for overseas adoption, Pinkko was injured during her last days at the shelter, sustaining significant bites to her ear and side. After receiving treatment, she spent two months in a foster home before transitioning to her current temporary placement.

Pinkko is a calm, loving, and low-maintenance girl looking for a peaceful home to spend her days relaxing and enjoying life. Could you be her perfect match?

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
