Indy is ready for adoption! Indy is approximately 12 weeks old and came to our shelter as an stray with a huge abscess on her neck. Luckily, we were able to have her treated and she is now happy, healthy, and looking for a family! Indy is currently living in a foster home and this is what they have to say about her: "Indy is a sweet, playful, happy puppy. Her temperament seems easy going, but she is still learning the world around her. When something scares her, she runs back to the house or to her person. She's getting along with our two dogs, but she is still learning manners and boundaries. She is not completely potty trained, but very close. She's starting to let us know when she needs to go out, but in the 8 days we've had her so far she's only had 3 accidents in the house. She sleeps 9 hours in her crate at night with no accidents. She has a medium energy level and no signs of resource guarding." If you think you might like to meet Indy, please submit an adoption survey at chicoanimalshelter.orgThis animal is at the City of Chico Animal Shelter. More about this shelter
The Chico Animal Shelter is owned by the City of Chico and operated by the City of Chico Police Department. We take in all stray dogs found in the incorporated area of the City of Chico. People wishing to surrender their dogs are asked to call the shelter to make an appointment. The shelter does not impound healthy stray cats, including feral or trapped cats. Please see our website for more information about stray cats, and where to surrender owned cats. Although we are an open admission shelter, we follow the state policy that no adoptable animal should be euthanized. To that end, we work with rescue groups, humane societies and other organizations to adopt out animals.
