My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Sweet - Inquisitive - Affectionate**

Salem will approach with gentle introductions, rub on your legs and plant it in your lap if you are sitting down. He loves pets, sweet talk and loves when you tell him how cute he is! Some of his favorite things are watching cat tv, bird watching at the window, watching shadow puppets on the wall, and tracking laser dots around the room. He's also loves to lounge, stretch out his belly and stare at you longingly to get your attention. He's quite charming. Salem is inquisitive while he observes the projects you are doing, but not overly pushy at all. Activities like laundry, cooking, and cleaning are some of the things he likes to supervise. This boy is a massive cuddle bug and will lounge for hours! Salem is a bit quirky, as he loves to place his prey (fake Mouse) in water to see what happens! In new environments, it takes him a few days to take it all in. Once he settles he's pretty much a dreamboat of a cat. He responds to his name and would love to keep it if he can. Also, he's a bit of a prima donna as he loves to be brushed and pampered. In return he will show his love for you daily! Come and meet him and see for yourself!

Salem's adoption fee is free because they need post-adoption dental care. If you adopt this kitty, you will receive a low-cost dental procedure offer through our onsite hospital. For more information on Cat Adoption Team's pricing and policies, visit catadoptionteam.org.

Additional adoption info

Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is a private, nonprofit organization that relies on individual donations, grants, and our own fundraising to operate. We receive no federal, state, or government funding.

Adoption fees help offset some of the costs associated with providing for the cats and kittens in our care—this includes housing, medical care, enrichment, behavior modification, and more.

CAT uses variable adoption pricing. The adoption fee for each cat is dependent on many factors including age, behavior, health, and demand.

Adoption fees range from $15 to $200 for cats (1 year old and above) and $100 to $200 for kittens (2-11 months old). Thanks to the Aleece Runge Fund for Senior Cats, the adoption fee for all cats 8 years and older is waived. The adoption fee for each cat is included in their pet bio.

Adoption discounts apply for adopting a pair of cats or kittens. For details about our adoption process, please visit: https://catadoptionteam.org/adopt/process-fees

More about this shelter

Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is the Pacific Northwest’s largest non-profit, limited-admission cat shelter with its own full-service on-site veterinary hospital. CAT works with our community to find loving placement for homeless cats and kittens in need. The cats available for adoption from CAT come to us through public surrender and through partnerships with other shelters, rescue groups, and veterinary offices. CAT works to take in cats that might otherwise be euthanized. With the support of our CAT community, we help about 3,000 cats find new homes each year, plus offer low-cost spay/neuter and other services to support cats and their families. Thank you for visiting our site and helping us save lives!
