Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Mama Perdita is sweet, shy, and laid back. After giving birth to and caring for three pups (while only a pup herself!), Perdita has been thriving at Big Barn and is now ready for her forever home.
Perdita is a little love bug who adores snuggles and belly rubs. This low energy lady will play pretty rambunctiously with her puppies, but once her humans are nearby, she just wants pets and snuggles.
Perdita will thrive in a calm home where she can enjoy lap naps. She isn’t impressed by all the hustle and bustle of city life, which makes her the perfect candidate for a family looking for a quiet dog to fit in with their laid back neighborhood. While she hasn’t been cat tested, we suspect she would do well as both a cat and dog companion given her submissive nature and love for her pups.
This mama has also been nailing her potty training – what a smartypants! And we know she will continue to do well with a family who is ready to shower this sweetheart with lots of love. Will that be you?

ALIVE Rescue is a sustainable animal rescue group committed to protecting the lives and rights of animals. We believe that every animal has the right to a well-balanced, socialized and fulfilled life. We take on the responsibility to save, rehabilitate and place abandoned, abused and stray animals. Our rescue permanently houses and cares for the animals that cannot be placed into forever homes for the duration of their natural lives. We provide medical, behavioral and physical support for animals despite their age, health, and/or breed. At ALIVE Rescue, we promote sustainable living and care-giving by building awareness, appreciation and respect for all animals and the environment within our communities. We constantly work to educate the public on current animal issues, including the benefits of spaying/neutering pets.
Since our formation in 2008, ALIVE Rescue has rescued more than 1,600 animals in the Chicago area.
