My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Carve out a little space in your heart and this mid sized low riding dude is going to be sure to fill it! Carver is a terrier mix who has that wiry hair and clearly mixed with something short and stocky that is less terrier but definitely has the low rider adorable sassiness and swagger. He is a low key guy who has a great medium energy level as he is an adult and weighs about 40 lbs full grown. Carver is good with other female dogs overall but would be pleased to be an only dog for sure! Cats would not be of interest for him as a living mate tho. Carver walks well on a leash. He has a coat that may be more low shed which makes him a highly desirable mix. Carver is ready to be the cut out you've been missing in your life up until now.
*Weekend Host feedback: "Carver is a super sweet and kind dog. He is active but also takes a good bit of naps throughout the day. He's very well trained dog! He did great on the leash. He liked to explore. He seemed nervous in the car but he did amazing in the crate. We let him roam around the house when we were there and put him in the crate at night. No problems".
*Additional feedback: "We enjoyed our time with Carver this weekend! He was very gentle with our daughter and loved to sit next to her on the couch. He is a very curious boy - he noticed when we would leave the room and was quick to follow! He loves treats and was particularly fond of crinkle stuffed animals. He did very well in his crate overnight and would often go in during the day for alone time. He is very treat motivated and knows the commands “sit”, “stay”, and “gentle”.

Additional adoption info

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.

If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org

Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.

Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue

Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.

We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
