My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tinsel “Maggie” – A Cuddly, Quirky Lovebug Ready for Her Forever Home!

Tinsel, affectionately known as Maggie, is a sweet, happy girl with a heart full of love! She adores people and other dogs, loves snuggles, and will happily curl up in your lap any chance she gets. She’s food-motivated, enjoys leashed walks, and is crate-trained when left alone (though she’d much rather be by your side!).  She loves attention and will let you know she wants you to pet her with a gentle nudge of her paw.

Maggie has come so far—her back legs are stronger, she can do stairs (just needs help slowing down on hardwood), and she’s learning the ropes of potty training. Her back seemed to bother her when she arrived but she seems to be just fine and gaining strength. She’s still transitioning from pee pads to going outside, and she sometimes takes a while to go—or waits until she’s back inside on the pee pad. Because of her wonky back, she occasionally sprinkles pee on herself, so she needs gentle wipe occasionally and a little extra grooming in that area.

She’s also a bit of a mischievous chewer, with a love for cords, plastic, and cardboard—so she needs an owner who can redirect her to hard toys and bones. A fenced yard is a must, as she’s a sneaky escape artist! She’s a little beggar who will paw at you endlessly for attention and maybe try to steal your snacks. She also sheds, despite regular brushing.

She is crate trained and leash trained. She is cute as a button and will steal your heart. Maggie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and had a dental.

Maggie is looking for a patient, loving family who will continue working on her training, keep her safe, and shower her with cuddles. Another dog would be a bonus! She may require extra care, but her sweet, silly personality makes it all worthwhile. If you’re ready to open your heart and home, Maggie is ready to be your loyal, snuggly sidekick!

Go meet their pets

Our rescues are with fosters on the east coast. The location in which the foster resides should be listed with each profile.

We are setting up some adoption events now, but are free for private meet and greets if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets!

More about this rescue

We have a passion for senior animals. To be able to save an animal from dying alone in a shelter, to give it a chance to live out its last days/months/years in a home with the proper care and love it deserves, instead of a cold shelter, is what drives us to keep going.

We obviously have financial needs that come with rescuing senior dogs, so we will be rescuing puppies and younger dogs as well so we are able to care for our seniors.
