Meet Blue, a one-year-old neutered male terrier mix with a sleek black coat and a heart full of love! Rescued from a small backyard breeder, Blue has spent most of his life surrounded by other dogs without human, so he’s still getting used to human affection. While he may be a little shy at first, a tasty treat is all it takes to win him over! Once he feels comfortable, he’ll happily follow you around and even bark for attention. He tends to warm up to women more quickly but can be a bit wary of men. Sudden movements and loud noises from young children (under 13) may make him nervous, but he’s sweet and affectionate once he feels safe. If you take the time to build trust, you’ll see his playful side shine—he might even roll over for belly rubs!
When it comes to other dogs, Blue is no pushover! He holds his own, even with larger pups, and isn’t afraid to stand up for himself if he feels picked on. But no aggression! He prefers dogs his size or bigger and has a mischievous streak—if he thinks another dog is easygoing, he’ll happily pester them for fun! His energy level is moderate; he enjoys outdoor adventures but also knows how to relax after a good play session. Blue has cat tested and does werll.
Blue does well on walks in quiet areas, but busy streets with loud noises and fast-moving cars can make him nervous. He may startle at sudden sounds or movements, so a patient and reassuring handler will help him build confidence. While he has no issues with humans near his food, he may give a warning growl if another dog tries to steal a bite—though once he’s full, he’s much more relaxed about it. He doesn’t struggle with separation anxiety but will bark if he wants attention or hears something outside. Blue is crate-trained and well-mannered in his kennel, and he’s also flexible with his bathroom habits, being comfortable with both pee pads indoors and potty breaks outside.
This little guy is full of personality and has so much love to give! With the right family to help him gain confidence and continue his socialization, Blue will make a fantastic companion. Think you might be the perfect match? Blue is ready to find his forever home!
