My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cerci!

A spirited eight-year-old German Shepherd from Mesa, AZ, whose heart is as big as her playful energy. Wrapped in a stunning black and tan coat, Cerci is a loyal companion who thrives on outdoor adventures and quality time with her people. Whether it’s playing an endless game of fetch with her beloved tennis ball, trekking through scenic hikes, or diving into a cool lake for a swim, Cerci is always up for fun!

Cerci’s not just an adventurer—she’s also a well-mannered girl with formal obedience training under her belt. She knows all the classics like sit, wait, come, heel, and even some fun tricks like roll over and speak! Plus, she’s house-trained, crate-trained, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. This sweet girl sleeps peacefully in her crate at night, but her favorite spot is by your side, where she feels most secure and loved.

While Cerci has a heart full of affection for her human family, she’s more selective when it comes to other dogs. She’s had recurring conflicts with another large dog in her current home. Because of this, Cerci would thrive best as the only dog in a home where she can soak up all the attention and love without any competition. That said, she’s perfectly fine with cats and small dogs, showing no signs of aggression toward them. She’s also never had any issues with people, but she tends to feel more comfortable around women and may be wary of large men with beards. Cerci can get nervous around toddlers and babies, so a family with older children would be a better match for her.

Cerci is sensitive to loud noises like fireworks and thunder, and big life changes—like moving or the arrival of a new baby—can cause her stress. A calm, stable environment with an active family who enjoys walks, hikes, and outdoor fun would be the perfect fit. She’d also love a fenced backyard for her favorite game of fetch! Once Cerci bonds with you, she’ll be your loyal shadow, always ready to be by your side.

Could Cerci be your next adventure buddy? She’s ready to find a new loving family who will cherish her sweet, playful spirit. Contact adopt@joyfulpets.com to meet her today!
