My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Donkey!!

Donkey came from a hoarding case in Tennessee. He came with a bunch of friends. Donkey turned out to be a lovebug!!!! Also, how can you not love his name. He is ready to find a forever family!!!!

Donkey is just a happy soul who consistently wags his tail and is super happy. He has taken them new world on like a champ. Just HAPPY!!!! Donkey feels like he should be be held like a baby, so he can hug and kiss you. He just loves his humans, dog and feline friends. He enjoys playing chase, fetching the ball and running free in the fenced yard. Donkey does chill out after he gets his zoomies out. Then he will just chill out and relax with you. He does pretty good on leash overall. We would say Donkey will need a basic obedience classes to learn his commands. He is food motivated and good in his crate.

Don't miss out on this handsome hunk. He cannot wait to find his forever family and have the time of his life. He wants to be able to put all the bad memories behind him. Apply for this lovebug today!!!!

If interested in Donkey, please apply online: ADOPTION APPLICATION or email us at Info.FetchingHeartsRescue@gmail.com.

More about this rescue

Fetching Hearts Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3), volunteer run rescue that is dedicated to saving dogs who have been abused, neglected or abandoned and finding loving, caring homes for them.

We rely on a network of foster families so that each dog that we pull into the safety of our rescue is placed in a foster home and is no longer confined to a life in a kennel.

We are committed to helping dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes by partnering with shelters and animal control services right here in Connecticut as well as with several high kill shelters in the South.

We do a full assessment of each dog's temperament and health to ensure that we are able to find the most suitable home for them. Every dog is fully vetted - meaning they are up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and micro chipped - before being adopted.

The ASPCA estimates that approximately 3.3 million dogs in the United States enter shelters each year, of which approximately 670,000 are euthanized*. Our goal is to advocate for and provide education about the need for spaying and neutering to eliminate what has become an epidemic of unwanted dogs.*
