My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

‘SKI RESORT’ THEMED PUPPY:  Approx. 3 months old  / Approx. 19 lbs. & growing

Hi, I’m Vail – a super cute and lovable puppy!  I came from a situation where there were just way too many dogs, so animal control helped me and quite a few others work our way to Mostly Mutts, so I can find a new family to love!  I’m a wonderful puppy looking for a great family to raise and love me furever – perhaps you?

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I enjoy spending time with the other 4 dogs in my foster home.  So, if you have a nice dog that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / There are kitties in my foster home, and I’m very interested in them.  I chase them at times, but only in a playful way, so if you have a kitty who won’t mind this, perhaps we can be pals. / I like the 9-year-old in my foster home, but I can be a bit jumpy and mouthy with them since I’m a baby, so best no toddlers that may fall on me or that I may bump over and nibble on, and of course, let’s meet.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster describes me as a pretty laid-back pup who generally isn’t bothered by noises, rain or much of anything – I say that I’m a nice ‘go with the flow’ kind of pup and that I just enjoy life. / My energy level is 4-6, of course this could change as I grow up.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog – including starting to train me not to chew on you and the kids so we’ll all be happy - so get ready for some training with your new best friend.  In my foster home, I can go up the stairs just fine but still need to learn how to go downstairs. / I like napping in my crate and do well at nighttime in it. / My potty manners are coming along, though I do have quite a few accidents in the house, so I’ll need my new family to work with me and finish my potty training.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love to run around, play with toys, pick things up and investigate them with my mouth, and do a bit of digging.  I also love to snuggle in my people’s laps and cuddle up next to my sibling.  I tend to want whatever my sibling has – toys, laps, food, etc. so I’m a bit of a stealer – lol.  / I’m not yet a fan of riding in the car, but I think I’ll get used to it.  I can’t think of anything else I don’t like, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow.  I’m also micro-chipped and spayed.

If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
