Meet Sadie! She is a new addition to the Watermelon family, but is as sweet as can be. She does not do well with small dogs and needs a dog her size or bigger. She requires a meet and greet with any current dog in the family since we are still learning her behavior with other dogs. She knows how to sit and loves to play. She has done well walking on a leash with our staff so far.

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
