Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Active, intelligent, and enthusiastic, Calmari is a high-energy dog who is eager to please.
Cal is a classic coloring of liver with white (deep red colored fur with white speckled chest)
Cal is fostered with dogs of all sizes- Great Danes to Pitties; he loves making new dog friends. He eats in a crate due to resource guarding; he will share toys and attention but once starved, he worries about food. He plays enthusiastically with other dogs and loves to give humans hugs.
A true German Shorthaired Pointer - He loves being on the go- running a yard, car rides or working out new scents (would thrive with scent detection work, agility course or hiking).
History: Calamari “Cal” was found in a small city shelter before Christmas. The staff asked for help because they were full and would have to make room - he was skinny with a bad skin infection so continued medical attention was needed. He has gained weight, his fur has grown back and he has healed completely. He required antibiotics and medicated shampoo to address the skin infection and inflammation in his paws.
