This helps Lucky Dog Animal Rescue with pet care costs.
LOGAN NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Logan Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and Lab mix
Best Guess for Age: 1 year, 2 months as of Dec. 2024 Gender: Male
Approximate Weight: 31 lbs
Gets Along With: Logan lives with another dog in his foster home. We haven’t seen Logan with kids or cats. We are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living At: DC area foster home.
Special Adoption Considerations: Logan is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.
We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!
Logan is Looking For:
Introducing Logan, a little bundle of joy with a tan and white coat and a dashing touch of black around his muzzle! Logan hails from Louisiana, where he’s been dreaming of finding a family to call his own.
This little guy is as charming as they come—whether it’s snuggling up for quiet moments or tagging along on your next adventure, Logan is ready to be your new best friend. His size makes him perfect for any home, and his heart is full of love to share.
If you’re searching for a loyal companion with a dash of Southern charm, Logan is the one for you!
What My Foster Says About Me: Logan has been settling in so, so well at home. He has really taken to my female dog for wrestling and playing tug, or playing tag out in the yard (and even cuddling on the couch). We've had no bathroom issues, lots of cuddles, and he's done very well in the crate overnight or if we have to step out. He seems enraptured/confused by people on TV, but is such a sweet and curious boy. He loves toys to play with and chew on and is already playing tug with my one dog.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
