My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Bagel! I'm a 6-month-old Pit Bull/Pointer mix, and I'm on the lookout for my forever home. Right now, I weigh 45 pounds, but I'm still growing-just like my love for life!

I've got a nose that's always on the job-sniffing out new adventures, exploring the world, and pointing out all the coolest things (especially tasty treats!). If you're into hikes, I'll be your trusty guide, leading the way with my curious nose. If you're more of a couch potato, don't worry-I'll point you to the coziest spot and snuggle right up!

I'm a smart, eager-to-learn pup who loves to have fun and get a good scratch behind the ears. If you're looking for a loyal, goofy companion with a whole lot of love to give, I think we'd be a perfect match! Come meet me and let's start our next adventure together!

(My mommy is adoptable pooch, Chiki. She's just 33 lbs! Check her out, too.)

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
