My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Theo!

This sweet, affectionate boy has a heart of gold, and a big ol' belly for you to rub for good luck! He loves nothing more than to chase after balls and toys, and just may be the best fetcher in the west! He's obedient, patient, and knows all his basic commands and is eager to please.

Theo has some previous trauma, because of this he would like to be the only doggo in your heart and in your home. Theo has some dog reactivity and would do best with an experienced owner who's able to help him work through it.

If you're someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and loves to engage with your dog, Theo will be the perfect fit. He's ready to form a deep bond with his forever family - are you the one to help him shine?

Theo is carrying a lil' something extra on his belly and his hips, and would benefit from a continued diet-plan and gentle exercise to help him achieve a healthy weight.

If you think Theo could be a good fit for you, please fill out an application below.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
