My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Clay!

Clay is an active pup who loves nothing more than companionship. He’d be just as happy sitting on the couch with his person as he would be running around the yard.
Clay seems to be okay with other dogs and might even do well with another pup in the house.
Currently, Clay is not looking his best. The shelter life is simply no place for this affectionate boy. While he is putting on the weight he needs, he’s far more likely to reach his weight goal sooner in a home. Our shelter staff would be more than happy to explain this further to anyone that may be interested in Clay!

If you are interested in applying for Clay, please fill out an adoption application! The application can be found on our website:

Additional adoption info

Matchmaking is what we love to do. We do our very best to find the best fit for the pets awaiting adoption at the Rhode Island SPCA. The first step to adopting a dog from the Rhode Island SPCA is filling out an adoption application. If your application is selected, you will be contacted and asked if you would like to schedule a meet & greet. Because of the volume of applications we receive, sometimes we can only respond to the selected applicant. You are always welcome to contact us anytime about the status of your application at adoption@rispca.com.
