Maya and Simba have been each other’s rock through the hardest of times. Abandoned in a backyard, they were left to fend for themselves with no promise of a future. Sweet Maya, a devoted Shih Tzu mix, gave birth to four beautiful puppies—each of whom has now found a loving home. Now, it’s Maya and Simba’s turn to find theirs, together.
When they first arrived in rescue, they didn’t know what to think. Life had been uncertain for so long that trust took time. But beneath their initial shyness, all they truly wanted was love. With gentle patience, they’ve blossomed into affectionate, loyal companions who simply want a family to call their own.
These two are the perfect pair—good with people, wonderful with other dogs, and always ready for a treat. They are kennel trained, seem to be potty trained, and are eager to continue learning in a home where they feel safe. Most of all, they are ready to love and be loved in return.
Maya and Simba share an unbreakable bond, one that has carried them through their toughest days. We would love nothing more than to see them continue their journey together, in a forever home where they will never have to worry again. They are fully vetted and waiting for the family that will give them the happy ending they so deserve.

We are foster based, but hold adoption events in various Pet Stores in the Greater Phoenix Area.
We can also do individual meet and greet for any of our dogs with an appointment with the foster.

Here at Arf-Anage Dog Rescue, our motto is "No Mom Left Behind". We specialize in moms and pups from local shelters as well as the Navajo reservation. When fosters are available, we also help with puppies that are owner-surrendered, "accidental" litters, or the last of a litter that someone just "couldn't get rid of".
Once our Mama dogs are done raising their pups, they are given time to recover then spayed, rehabbed, and made ready for forever families.
Puppies are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. We orient them into a foster-home environment and begin potty training and socialization. We find them great forever homes and in case it doesn't work out, we take the dogs back and find them another loving home. We offer 80% refunds on adoption fees up to 5 days after the adoption.
In some situations, we also offer assistance to help find free or reasonable spay and neuter services for owned pets.
