Meet Meeka’s Pups!

Our story began in the most dramatic way—our mom, Meeka, arrived at the rescue in active labor with us! Meeka is a beautiful Lab/Australian Shepherd mix, and she brought nine of us into the world, each with our own unique look. Some of us have long legs, while others are low riders with long bodies and short legs. Our coats come in all different colors and textures, making us a truly one-of-a-kind litter!

We are adventurous little explorers who love zooming around the yard, collecting sticks, and pouncing on our siblings. Toys are our absolute favorite—whether they squeak, bounce, or are extra fluffy, we love them all! After all the fun, nothing beats curling up in a warm lap for some snuggles.

Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..

If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us.

Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets.

We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in.

We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
