My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who is looking for the sweetest, cutest dog in all the land?! There has to be someone looking for Ms. Pixie as her foster family says she's as sweet as pie and would make the perfect addition to someone's family. Pixie is an 9 month, 8lb chug (chihuahua/pug mix) ready to find her forever home.

Pixie would do best in a home with another doggie playmate. Pixie loves being around other dogs similiar to her size and she would do best having another 4 legged friend. Pixie not only loves to snuggle and play with other pups but she loves people as well. Pixie is the perfect blend of play and calm.

Pixie is crate trained but has not yet mastered potty training so her new forever family will need to demonstrate patience and consistency so she knows to use the potty outside.

Pixie seems to ignore cats but we do not recommend small children in her forever home. Her foster family says she is so sweet and bonds very quickly to her person. So if you're looking for a snuggly, playful and velcro dog - Pixie is the girl for you!

Submit Application

Everyone MUST submit an application to be considered for adoption

Interview

We will talk to you and your references to get a feel of what you're looking for in a pet and if the particular pet would be a good fit

Home Check

This is required. We want to see where the pet will be living and it gives us an opportunity to meet you!

Meet the Pet

A meet and greet will be arranged after you have been approved as an applicant

More about this rescue

Paws Across Pittsburgh is a 501(c)(3), foster based, non-profit animal rescue located in the Pgh area. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome homeless, abused and/or unwanted dogs and cats.

We are run solely by volunteers with the goal of providing vet care, socialization skills and nutritional needs while living in a loving foster home. All animals that enter into the rescue will receive appropriate vet care, spay/neuter, vaccinations and preventative treatments.

Our goal is to assure a loving, forever home for each one of our animals. Paws Across Pittsburgh strongly believes in Force Free training methods for our animals.
