Looking for a fun-loving, energetic, and affectionate pup? Gizmo is your guy! This one-year-old Shih Tzu-Terrier mix weighs almost 30 pounds and is bursting with personality! Gizmo LOVES treats, playing fetch, and going on long walks—he’s always up for an adventure. He’s great with other dogs and would thrive in an active home. His foster family thinks he’d be wonderful with kids, but he’s still working on his manners (he gets so excited he might jump!).

This sweet boy was found as a stray, and now he’s ready to find his perfect forever family. If you’re looking for a playful, loyal, and happy pup to join your home, Gizmo is the one!

If a particular pooch has caught your eye or if you’re searching for a new furry family member, take a few minutes to complete our online adoption application or stop by our Adoption Events to visit with our adoptable pups.

Our application review team will contact you as they process your application and check with your references. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received, but our primary responsibility is to find the best home for each individual dog and the best match for you and your family regardless of application order. We want to see that every animal and family are well-suited as a forever match.

Our adoption fees vary by the animal’s age and specific breed. All adopted dogs will receive vaccinations against distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus, as well as flea/tick treatments and de-worming. Dogs who are too young to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated against rabies will receive vouchers to one of our local veterinary partners.

Adoption Events are held on Saturdays from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM at our storefront Adoption Center, located at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein. We are also available to schedule individual Meet-and-Greet appointments during the week.
