All About Me

Hi, I’m Snow! I’m a lively and affectionate eight-year-old Poodle with a fluffy white coat and a heart full of energy. Weighing 5.4kg (11.9lb), I may be a senior, but you wouldn’t know it from my playful and active nature. My past wasn’t the easiest—I likely spent my early years in a breeding facility before ending up in a city shelter. Despite everything, I still have so much love to give and am searching for a home where I can be cherished for the rest of my life.

My Personality

I absolutely adore people and love being the center of attention. Whether it’s familiar faces or new friends, I have no hesitation in approaching for pets and cuddles. I enjoy being picked up and handled, and I thrive on affection. While I have the spirit of a young pup, I sometimes struggle with calmness. I have high energy levels and a playful streak, so I’d love a home where I can stay active and engaged. My excitement sometimes gets the best of me, especially when meeting other dogs—I tend to be a little too eager and may try to mount them. This behavior can make some dogs uncomfortable, so I’ll need a patient adopter who understands my quirks and can help guide me with gentle training.

Social Skills

I’m very friendly toward other dogs and love to meet them. However, I don’t always know the best way to interact—I sometimes focus too much on mounting rather than just playing. Because of this, not all dogs are happy to engage with me, so my new family should be mindful of my social interactions. I haven’t been around cats before, so I’m not sure how I’d react to them.

Energy and Activities

I have a high energy level, and even though I’m a senior, I don’t seem to slow down! I need plenty of exercise and stimulation to keep me happy. Walks are one of my favorite activities, and though I can pull on the leash at times, I generally follow my person’s lead well. If I don’t get enough activity, I might become restless. I also have a strong tendency to vocalize—when I want attention or something exciting is happening, I won’t hesitate to express myself. My future family should be prepared for some demand barking and help me learn when to settle.

Training and Habits

I am fully house-trained and can use both pee pads and outdoor spaces for bathroom breaks. I have no issues with food guarding and share well with both humans and other dogs. I experience separation anxiety and don’t like being left alone for long periods. When confined in a kennel, I tend to whine and fuss, so crate training might take some extra patience and encouragement. Because I spent years as a breeding dog, I developed a habit of mounting other dogs. This is something my future family should be aware of and help me work on through redirection and training.

My Ideal Home

I need an active home where I’ll receive plenty of attention, exercise, and guidance. Since I have a strong attachment to people, a family that isn’t away for long hours would be ideal. Someone who enjoys spending time at home or can take me along for outings would be a great match. If my new home has another dog, they should be tolerant and patient, as my mounting behavior may take time to improve. A structured and consistent approach will help me learn better social manners.

Special Notes

Even though I have early-stage cataracts in one eye, my vision is still functional, and I don’t require medical intervention at this time. Otherwise, I am in great health for my age! I am a sweet, affectionate, and endlessly energetic dog who thrives on love and attention. With the right balance of structure, training, and activity, I will be a devoted and joyful companion. If you’re looking for a playful, loving dog with a big personality, I might be the perfect match for you!
