Hi, I`m Lupe! I`m a 3-year-old Pointer mix who is ready to find my forever home! My personality is sweet, playful, loyal, and friendly. I can be a little shy at first, but I like meeting new people who are going to pet me and give me a lot of attention! My favorite things to do are spending time with my favorite people, playing with my toys, laying in the sun, and exploring outside during a nice long walk. I love to follow my nose! I probably had babies in the past, and as a result, I don`t really enjoy the company of other dogs, or even cats at this time. But being an only pet just means I will be able to bond even more with my new family. If you want a sweet new friend who will go with you on all your adventures, apply to meet me today!

Submit Application

Review our adoption process and complete our new online pet application. If you need assistance, call us or visit our Adoption Center!

2.
Approve Application

If you have had pets in the past 10 years, we will do a vet check and we will check with your landlord or HOA that you can have the pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

Once approved, everyone in your home will need to meet the pet. Also, any existing dog will need to meet a dog you want to adopt.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

We will ask you to sign an adoption contract and pay our adoption fee - a schedule of fees is on our website.

We have one Adoption Center at 1901 W. Ogden Ave., Downers Grove, IL. Please come in to complete our pet application or fill it out online and we will contact you to schedule an appointment to meet our awesome dogs and cats!

More about this rescue

The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a volunteer-based, no-kill animal rescue that was founded in 1972 in the western suburbs of Chicago. WSHS now finds homes for more than 500 dogs and cats each year!

WSHS is 100% funded by individual, corporate, and private foundations donations, and has over 450 active volunteers! WSHS is caring for about 200 animals at any given time.
