This sweet girl is Birdie! She looks to be a Terrier mix, approximately 1 years old and 14 lbs.
Birdie loves to chew on toys, but she is not a fan of chasing balls. Tough chew toys and bones make her happy! She loves to play chase with another dog in the foster home and is just as content to curl up on the couch and look out the window for squirrels and passersby.
Birdie is full of love for her person. She loves to give kisses and be next to you at all times. She was skittish and frightened at most sounds and sudden movements in the beginning. She also needs time when first meeting someone. She will bark initially at the same time running around with a smile to try & get as close as she feels comfortable for sniffs and pets. She is not at all aggressive, just leery and cautious. Once she warms up, she will follow you around and want to be on your lap for pets.
Birdie is crate trained and currently sleeps in the crate at night without a peep. The crate at her foster home is near the bed as she likes to be close to her humans.
She would do best in a home with people that are home more during the day. Birdie was never potty trained, she's currently learning. At night, occasionally she will get restless which is her way of showing that she needs to go out. Usually before-bed potty trips take care of the need to go through night. Unfortunately, during the day when her foster mom is at work, there is an accident waiting at lunch time or at the end of the day. We are working on this with extra potty breaks. We feel this will stop if living with someone home.
Birdie is not a big fan of the cold weather, who is?! But once out in the back yard, she loves to sniff around, chase after the occasional squirrel and talk to the neighborhood dogs and people. Birdie is still learning how to walk on leash, being so cold it's been difficult. We feel it is best Birdie have a home with a Fenced Yard. Birdie is such a sweet girl. She deserves to be in a home with someone that will give her the time, love and attention she needs, and she will give the same back!

More about this rescue
K9 Lifeline Rescue (K9LLR)/ Dalmatian Rescue of Wisconsin is a small group of caring individuals who volunteer their valuable time to work hard in finding forever homes for dogs, puppies and any animal that our hearts lead us to. We work closely with rural shelters where adoptions are low and putting animals to sleep because of space is always a problem for them. These animals deserve a chance at a happy, healthy life too and we are proud to be able to make this happen.
K9LLR also helps families who can no longer keep their pet for various reasons (moving, financial, allergies) find new loving homes for them before they have to take them to a shelter!
