Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Jacinda is a super sweet 30 lb cream-colored terrier mix. The shelter estimated her age at 1.5 years old, which is probably about right. Her teeth are nice and white.
We rescued Jacinda from the Riverside San Jacinto shelter where she had been lying for 3 weeks with a badly fractured femur and two fractures to her pelvis. We were full, but Jacinda was running out of time and we couldn’t let her be euthanized after lying in pain for so long. We picked Jacinda up and drove her straight to surgery at ASEC in West L.A. She is now healed up and ready for a new home.
Jacinda is one of the sweetest, happiest gals you’ll meet. She is very much a people person and loves us humans. She loves to cuddle. Jacinda’s foster calls Jacinda her huggable bear. Jacinda is always on her foster’s lap angling to snuggle and Jacinda is just the right size to wrap your arms around.
Jacinda likes to play with toys - she has a Benebone that she likes to chew on and a rubber stick that she carries around. She’ll also chase the ball in her foster’s yard. She is great on car rides. Jacinda has gone on a couple of multi-hour car rides and she sat quietly in the back without complaining.
Jacinda is potty-trained and crate trained which is a nice bonus. Overall, she has a young, happy spirit and brings a lot of life to her home.
Jacinda appears to be in good health and had a thorough checkup, with blood work, before surgery. She is spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccinations.
Jacinda is being fostered in Sonoma. If you are interested in adopting Jacinda, please complete a CMSR adoption application (http://www.schnauzers.us/adoptionform.html). Contact Mary Alford at schnauzer@dslextreme.com if you have any questions about Jacinda.

All applications are screened by a member of the rescue. Once approved, applicants will be connected to the foster to learn more about the dog. The applicant will meet the dog in person, and if all think it would be a good fit, an adoption contract is signed.
