My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gypsy and Skylar, a bonded pair are ready to find their perfect home. Gypsy, the Old English Bulldog is 1-1/2 years old and 46 pounds. Skylar, the Boston Terrier is 2 years old and 17 pounds. Both are neutered and UTD on vaccines. They were not house trained when they came to us, but both are improving with the ongoing training. If they are taken outside on a regular schedule, accidents do not occur. They do great on a leash and love car rides. Both are kennel trained. As far as energy levels; Skylar is a go-go (full of energy) and Gypsy is a slow-go (couch potato). Skylar, in true Boston fashion, loves to run, jump and play with toys but when she’s ready for bed, she’s a snuggle bug. Gypsy, in true Bulldog fashion, enjoys leisurely walks and laying on the couch while chewing her favorite toy. Both are great with children as long as they’re old enough to withstand dogs that jump. They also get along with other dogs, but cats; not so much. Both girls are super chewers and need a variety of toys that cannot be easily destroyed. Dog beds are not a safe choice for the dynamic duo and only blankets should be used. Both sit on command and are very food/treat motivated. A fenced yard is required since Skylar will run and chase anything that moves. Gypsy and Skyler are the sweetest girls and have never met a human they won’t lick. They have a lot of love to give and would do best in a home where they are not left alone for long periods. This wonderful bonded pair is fostered in Kearneysville, WV.
If you meet their requirements and feel you are the right family for them, email odbtr1@gmail.com or bostonlover02@comcast.net to request a Word or PDF format application. Please note, we will not respond to inquiries about them until we have your application on file.

Interview

Email and phone interviews

3.

Approve Application

Before approval, we check personal and veterinary references. We discuss any changes we'd like to see in your care plan.

4.

Home Check

Preferably the home visit is done by the dogs foster. If that won't work, one of our volunteers will visit.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

Once we have agreed on the ideal match our contract is signed and the adoption fee is paid.

6.

Take the Pet Home

Unless the dogs foster does the home check, if they do you may complete the adoption that day.

Additional adoption info

Our fees vary depending on the dog. Age, health and behavior issues determine the fee for each dog. Our youngest and healthiest Boston's help pay the way for our seniors and special needs Boston's. Our highest fee is $650 and the lowest is $0. When a dog has full sponsorship there our adoption fee is waived.

More about this rescue

We are a small foster based rescue covering VA, Northeastern NC, MD,DE and DC. We are a dedicated group of Boston lovers. Our main goal is to save as many Boston Terriers from shelters and owners who can no longer care for their Boston's. We will help any Boston Terrier, any age, health issue and behavior issue that needs us. We do have limits. We can only take dogs when we have space. Sometimes that means owner surrenders have to wait for a space to open before we can take their dog. We also take other breeds when we have room. We are as holistic as possible in our care of Boston's combining traditional veterinary care and holistic philosophies. We are always looking for volunteers.
