Purebred English Pointers DISCARDED from a hunting club.
These dogs came in under 40 pounds…they are very thin. That’s a hunting club thing…why train properly when you can just starve them into submission? Yeah, I know…go ahead and jump on me for that statement but I see it a 1000 times in rescue…always. These dogs should weigh 50 to 70 pounds depending on bone structure…so they are now being fed correctly. They crate well (of course -it’s a hunting club so that’s where they spend their lives), they are friendly but a bit shy. They walk well on a leash and have some training. Here’s what we know for sure…they are sweet dogs which is probably why they were discarded so young…all under 2 years. They are heartworm negative & fully vetted. They have nowhere to go. We need fosters and adopters and the situation is URGENT for them. We need to tag them, in order to make it happen, we need committed fosters and adopters for them. These are purebred beautiful English Pointers…. Can you pass this post around and see if anyone has interest? This is just a darn shame on so many levels.

A processor will call you, check your references. Please make sure your vet has permission to speak to the processor.

BMAR is a No-Kill facility: a place of safety for healthy adoptable animals, a home for the homeless, a haven for the mistreated, neglected, or abused animals of Sabine & surrounding counties. BMAR also runs a sanctuary for those deemed unadoptible due to medical and behavior issues.
100% Volunteer Rescue. We have no animal control, Humane Society, or SPCA operating in our area leaving animals in dire straights.
