Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet King, this handsome 2-year-old male Shepherd mix weighs a solid 69 lbs and has a striking Shepherd mix appearance. Don't let his size intimidate you, though, because King is a total sweetheart. Sadly, he was surrendered by his previous owner along with other dogs due to the inability to provide proper care. But now, he's ready to find his forever home with someone who will shower him with all the love and attention he deserves.
King's ideal home is one where he can decompress and settle into the life of a spoiled house dog. Patience and love are a must for his new family, as he may take some time to adjust to his new surroundings and learning the household routines. But once he's settled, you'll have a constant companion, best friend, and social butterfly by your side.
This energetic and playful boy has a slight obsession with squirrels, so a fenced yard or plenty of walks will keep him entertained. King is an affectionate and friendly pup who loves nothing more than being with people. He's a quick learner and already knows the command "SIT," proving his intelligence. King has done well with other dogs and adores kids.
King was previously Neutered. He is microchipped and Heartworm tested. We have updated all vaccines including rabies. He has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention.

The Orange County Animal Shelter is responsible for providing humane care to unwanted, lost or abandoned animals
The Orange County Animal Shelter provides safe haven and vet care for hundreds of animals of all ages and descriptions each year.
Happily, we have had great success promoting our animals on Petfinder, Petsmart adoption events and now with the help of Adopt-A-Pet. Dozens of animals have been adopted by people who have come from many other states. Would you like to join them? If so, please let us know! The greater our reach the more homes we will find for the animals in our care.
Although we are about 1.5 hours away from the Washington, D.C. metro area, it is an easy drive. You can even make a day of it and stop off at country stores, Civil War battlefield sites and a huge mall complex in Spotsylvania/Fredericksburg. And after all, what is a few hours in drive time when you will be meeting your new best friend? If you need help getting here, call us for directions
