River is that laid back best friend you cant wait to spend time with. He is well mannered in his kennel, is almost fully house-trained, is independent but loving, and has been friendly with everyone he has met.

River has great manners when it comes to play time, with a good give and take play style. He is happy to run and play with other dogs and has done fabulous in off leash play groups.

River would thrive in a moderately active home where he can have outside time, but also where he would have plenty of time to fall asleep on the couch.

He has shown us positive signs that he could coexist with a cat - presenting a healthy hesitation when it comes to his feline friends; however, he has not lived with cats.

R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue is looking for committed adopters, ready to bring a rescue dog into their life. In order to ensure that we find the best homes for our dogs, adoption applicants must go through an adoption approval process. We receive a number of applications for each dog and only one will be chosen as the successful candidate. Candidates are selected based on the dog's needs. Not being selected for the dog that you applied for does not disqualify you from adopting from us in the future.

Go meet their pets

We do our very best to place our dogs into adoptive homes before they arrive into Canada. This ensures that they have a safe and loving place to go after their long journey up North. All dogs adopted through R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue will receive a 15 day adoption probation period. This period starts the day the dog enters the care of the adopter. This means that the adoptive family has 15 days to determine that dog is a good fit for them. Although it may feel scary to not meet the dog before adopting, the 15 day period allows you to get to know the dog within your home. If you buy a dog off of Kijiji or at a local shelter you may be given a couple hours to meet the dog. We believe that our program's 15 day probation provides much more insight into how he or she will fit into your home, rather than. a brief meet and greet.

R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue was founded in 2020 by a small group of young women with one thing is common: a love for dogs. Since establishment, RDR has successfully found forever homed for over 700 dogs. Our mission is to rescue dogs in dire situations and give them a second chance at life through education and empowerment. All of our dogs come the streets and shelters across Texas, where they are experiencing a dog overpopulation crisis. Our team has travelled to the State to see first-hand how we can help and make a difference in the lives of animals.
